Meetup #26 – Client-led & Value-based Practices for Mental Health in VR
Date: Thursday, June 6th, 2024
Time: 16:00 – 17:30 CEST
Location: MS Teams
In June, we’re delighted to welcome Nina Salomons who, with over 8 years of experience in XR, has established the women in VR meetup group in London, leads the XR Diversity Initiative, and is a co-founder of Anomie XR – a VR-to-browser visualisation tool for wellbeing practitioners.
In her presentation, she will focus particularly on the latter, sharing how her personal experience battling long covid led to Anomie’s foundation. Utilising Nina’s background in filmmaking, Anomie creates safe virtual environments with a value-based approach to reducing stigma, minimising sessions times, and increasing retention rates.
- What are the benefits of offering VR for therapy or counselling?
- What are the ethical or dangerous situations faced when using VR in-practice?
- How are clones and generative AI adding benefits or risks to healthcare environments?
- What safeguarding is in place for clients?
Expect to discuss these questions, dive into case studies, and explore the biggest hurdles facing this technology’s adoption in healthcare.
We’re very much looking forward to seeing you there!
